Pati Baztán seeks emotion in the contrast between material density and silence, a game of opposites in an attempt at a brutal dialogue that disqualifies and pushes aside human reasoning. As if each piece had emerged from nature and was as it is because it cannot be otherwise, where doubt and intellectual discussion have no place. Because, just as it is not necessary to understand the shape of a stone, the stains emerge on the canvas naturally, like the skin of an animal that changes its appearance when it mutates. The artist does not cover up or rectify anything, she accepts mistakes as correct, there is no censorship in her works. She likes to see her paintings as if they were a small part of something bigger.
